Gretchen Berthiaume's Obituary
Gretchen E. Berthiaume, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 20th in Londonderry, NH, after a long battle with addiction. Gretchen was born on June 30, 1970 to the late George F. and Patricia Ann (Woekel) Windisch in Lawrence, MA.
She obtained a degree in medical records, and went on to work at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home as well as a few biotech companies in administration. Gretchen was known to be generous, empathetic, creative, and a lover of photography. She was happiest when spending time with her family, especially loved rides to the beach, most especially going to Key West in Florida where many memories were made.
In addition to her parents, Gretchen was predeceased by her husband, Fran W. Berthiaume; and her sister, Jennifer Windisch and her late spouse, Janet Montgomery.
She is survived by her siblings, Matthew Windisch, and his wife Maria, of Londonderry, NH; Virginia Favazza. and her husband Ryan, of Dracut, MA; and Kevin Stacy, and his wife Shannon, of Bozman, MO. Gretchen also leaves behind her loving daughter Devin Dunn, her step-mother Kathleen Windisch, several nieces and nephews, and one grandson, Leonardo Amicone.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to honor and celebrate Gretchen’s life by gathering for a short service at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Cambridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 8 Dana St, Cambridge, MA 02138 or to the North Charles Institute For The Addictions, 54 Washburn Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140, in memory of Gretchen.
