Gregory J. L'Heureux's Obituary
Gregory J. L’Heureux, age 72 a lifelong resident of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at his residence.
Gregory was born in Methuen on December 2, 1949 to the late Chanel J. and Agnes (Dionne) L’Heureux. Gregory was the beloved husband of Barbara V. L’Heureux with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. He was the brother of Ronald L’Heureux and his wife Carol, Valerie L’Heureux, and the late Mark L’Heureux. Gregory was the loving uncle of Katie, David, and DJ. He was the cherished godfather of Peter T. Finucane.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree from UMASS Lowell. Gregory was always civically active in the City of Methuen. He was a committee member for the building of Methuen Comprehensive Grammar School. He was the Co-Chairman of the Greater Lawrence Technical School Building and Renovation Project 2001-2004. He served in the Methuen Police Department. He was also involved with the Methuen Conservation Commission Board, and a member of and served as Chairman of the Methuen School Committee. He assumed the responsibility of being an Election warden and clerk for the local, State and Federal election for the town of Methuen. For more than 16 years, he was a Trustee of the Methuen Memorial Music Hall. He was an active parishioner of St. Monica Parish for many years. Greg was a long time member of the Methuen Republican Town Committee, serving as the Treasurer for over 36 years and is presently the Chairman.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica’s Parish, 212 Lawrence St. Methuen.
