Gertrude Schweizer's Obituary
Gertrude Schweizer, age 98 of Methuen passed away on November 22, 2018 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Gertrude was born in Lawrence on March 15, 1920 to the late Joseph and Emma (Zahn) Hennessey. She was a graduate of both Lawrence High School, Class of 1937 and a graduate of St. John’s Hospital in Lowell where she received a degree in nursing. Gertrude was a long time RN at Holy Family Hospital and the VA Hospital in Bedford. She loved reading, knitting, and spending time with her family especially her granddaughter. She also enjoyed spending time at Salisbury Beach.
Gertrude was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Schweizer. She was the devoted mother of Frederick Schweizer and his wife Shirley of Danville, NH. Gertrude was the loving grandmother of Emma Yvette Schweizer of Danville, NH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
