Gerald W. McCall's Obituary
Gerald W. McCall, age 92 of Methuen passed away peacefully on September 12, 2020. Gerald was born in Lawrence on April 15, 1928 to the late Philip McCall Sr. and Ethel Joy McCall. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Merrimack College and Lowell University. Gerald was a proud WWII US Navy veteran. He was a former communicant of St. Monica’s Parish. Gerald worked for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for over 50 years as an environmental engineer and was an environmentalist to his core. He was an advocate for righteousness in all aspects of his life even through retirement. A lover of music Gerald sang in the Tony Brown Band and also wrote some of his own music. He will be fondly remembered for his intellect which gave inspiration to others.
Gerald was the beloved husband of Mary Lou McCall. He was the devoted father of Deborah McCall, Gerald McCall II, Colleen McCall, Kevin McCall, Heather McCall, Bryan McCall, Maribeth Flynn, Christopher McCall, Michael McCall, and the late James McCall. He was the loving grandfather of 11. Gerald was the cherished great grandfather of 8. He was the dear brother of Philip McCall Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen. Please report directly to church. Interment with military honors to be held at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen. Due to the ongoing global pandemic, facial coverings are required to attend the funeral mass and interment.
