Gaetan Chouinard's Obituary
Gaetan Chouinard, age 74 of Salem, NH passed away peacefully at his late residence on October 20, 2019. Gaetan was born in St. Athanase, Quebec, Canada on April 16, 1945 to the late Gerard and Eva (Deschene) Chouinard. He was self-employed as a carpenter for many years. Gaetan will be remembered as a very skilled tradesman, who was completely self-taught. He taught himself many other trades other than carpentry. Gaetan was very helpful and generous with his time, he was always willing to help family, friends and neighbors.
Gaetan was the beloved husband of Camilla (Lavoie) Chouinard, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Steven Chouinard and his partner Desiree Rivera, and Jimmy Chouinard and his partner Karen Cox. Gaetan was the dear brother of Berangere St. Pierre, Rejean Chouinard, Mario Chouinard, Jean Pierre Chouinard, Paul Yvan Chouinard, and the late Gaetane Chouinard. He was the loving grandfather of Amanda, Steven Jr., Nathaniel, Zion, Katie, and Jessica. Gaetan was the cherished great-grandfather of Camilla Belle, Lilah, and Payton.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 9:30 AM at St. Monica’s Parish, 212 Lawrence St. Methuen. Interment will take place on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Pine Grove Cemetery of Salem, NH.
