Rusty Cofrin
I remember the first time I met Frank. It was at a party not too far from Dick and Dot's home. He was a kind man and more like a gentle giant. After I retired, Shirrill and I hosted a large cook out up here in Concord NH. Frank was able to attend. I sat down next to him for a chat. I knew he was struggling with his health, so I just wanted to know how he was holding up at my home. He said he was fine and just enjoying the company. He said he heard that I had retired from teaching and coaching, and wanted to know why. I know as a bit early to retire so i told him it was due to my brain cancer. He then asked me how I was holding up and I said just fine. We talked about things he liked to do for hobbies. He then asked me what I liked to do when I was retired. Well, I mentioned my cycling. He asked if I liked to build puzzles. I did and we started chatting about puzzle building. I had already completed a few puzzles and I showed him pictures I took while I was building them. We came upon one puzzle that he liked and asked if I still have it. I said sure it's down in my cellar.I also told him it was a 2000 piece puzzle. He didn't care, he just wanted to take it home and give it a try. So I went down cellar and grabbed it, brought it up and looked at the picture on the box cover and then looked at the piece sizes. He asked if he could take the puzzle. I was honored to give it to him. Someone told me later that Frank will have this puzzle done within the week. I asked if he wanted anymore and they said that this was fine. So I sat down again with him and we chatted about puzzles again. Since then I have built so many puzzles, I'm getting real good at this as well. How about that that our hobbies brought us closer. Your niece Shirrill and I will miss you as well. We also know that you are with your beloved wife Barbara, resting comfortably. My wife has some fond memories but would rather share them in person with her family.
