Francis J. "Frank" Dowd

Francis J. ?Frank? Dowd age 72 of Methuen, died peacefully Friday at his home. Born in Fulton, NY, Frank grew up and was educated in Lawrence, MA. A graduate of Central Catholic High School and Bentley College in Boston, Frank was a resident of Methuen for the past 42 years. Frank was a retired accountant, having worked for several companies in the Boston, MA area. He was a member of St. Mary?s the Assumption Church, where he was a Eucharist Minister and Lector. He was a former member of St. Monica in Methuen where he taught CCD for 23 years. Frank was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lawrence, MA, where he was also a 4th Degree member. He was a former member and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus in Methuen. Frank was a member of Saggahew Lodge AF&AM in Haverhill, MA. He was a member of the Pentucket Chapter of the R.A.M, the Haverhill Council of the R&SMM, and a member of Haverhill Commandery #14 where was involved in a number of boards and committees. Frank enjoyed summers with family and friends at Boars Head in Hampton, NH. The son of the late Jeremiah and Anna Dowd, Frank is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary (McDermott) Dowd of Methuen, MA and leaves two sons, Atty. Geoffrey and his wife Erica Dowd of Hampstead, NH, and Christopher Dowd of Methuen, MA. He is survived by his brother, Jeremiah and his wife Paula Dowd, grandsons Aiden and Finn Dowd and nephew J.T. Dowd, all of Hampstead, NH, and brothers and sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews in Co. Roscommon, Ireland and London, England. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 9th at 10 AM at St. Mary the Assumption Church, Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, Feb. 8th from 4-8 PM at the KH Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA.
