Felice Morency's Obituary
Felice (Buote) Morency, 93, of Salem, NH, a former longtime resident of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2020 at the High Pointe House in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger E. Morency, who passed away just recently, shortly before their 71st wedding anniversary. Felice reunited with him on what would have been his 93rd birthday to start the next stage of their journey.
Born in Lawrence on July 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George and Lorette (Bedard) Buote. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School and briefly worked in the woolen mills of Lawrence. After her marriage, Felice became a full-time homemaker, devoting herself to raising her children and maintaining their beautiful home. Her family and home was the most important thing in her life. Occasionally, she would help out her husband at the family business, Morency’s Market. Felice particularly enjoyed baking, always providing the traditional desserts at family gatherings. She was also an avid bird watcher, and maintained a life-list of the birds she had seen. Her happiest times were spent walking hand in hand along the beach with her beloved Roger.
Felice is survived by her four children; her daughter, Cynthia Morency of Andover, her son, Steven Morency & his wife, Joyce of Lawrence, her daughter, Kathleen Morin & her husband, James of Salem, NH, and her daughter, Christine Morency of Bradford. She is also survived by her five grandchildren; Jennifer, Kristin, Nicole, Matthew and Ashley. Felice was also a proud great-grandmother to Mia, Zoey, Saverio and Cole. She is also survived by her sister, Geraldine Garrett and her husband, Jay of Pass Christian, MS and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Eleanor and Connie and her brother, Jerome.
To honor Felice’s wishes all services were privately held. The Morency family would like to personally thank the staff of the Merrimack Valley Hospice for their unwavering kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Felice’s memory to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
