Erjeta Pocoli's Obituary
Erjeta Pocoli, age 82 of Methuen and formerly of Albania passed away at the Sutton Hill Center, North Andover, MA on November 7, 2017. Erjeta was born in Tirana, Albania on January 4, 1935 to the late Andrea and Kleoniqi (Cuni) Tolka. She was a graduate of the University of Tirana, where she earned a degree in Biology-Geography. Erjeta was the vice principal of one of her city’s grammar and middle school for over 30 years. She taught and educated thousands of students during her years as teacher of biology, zoology, anatomy and geography. Many of her students became doctors and teachers and remember her as their inspiration to become doctors and teachers. Her hard work was acknowledged highly by her colleagues but most of all by generations of students she taught through the years. At retirement Erjeta was a very devoted family wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, gardening and helping her sons, and above all caring for her granddaughters and grandsons. She will be remember with most respect by her family and many people she touched during her meaningful life.
Erjeta was the beloved wife of the late Viron Pocoli. She was devoted mother of Renato Pocoli and his wife Denise, and Chris Pocoli and his wife Eda. She was the loving grandmother of Nancy, Angelo, Dietmar, Klea, and Anthony. Erjeta was the dear sister of Apostol Tolka of Tirana, Albania, Elsa Mitrushi of Mississauga, Canada and George Tolka of Marlborough, Massachusetts. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 4- 8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 9 AM at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 71 Chandler Rd. Andover.
