Elphege J. Landry's Obituary
Elphege “Phege” J. Landry, 82, of North Andover, MA and former longtime resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Lawrence General Hospital.
Phege was born in St. Rose, PQ. Canada on February 11, 1941, to the late Gerald and Alice (DesRosier) Landry. Phege attended country school until the sixth grade; he was a farmer and lumberjack during his younger years. He immigrated to the U.S.A and as a Roman Catholic became affiliated with the Knights of Columbus and participated in various other social organizations and clubs over time. He worked in construction as a mason, and also took odd jobs as a grounds keeper until he retired. He loved his family, engaged in socializing and camaraderie, and liked to participate in outings and billiards. He enjoyed country music, western movies, wrestling sports, and good food. There was often a pot of “lumberjack macaroni” and tea on the stove, or a pot of “kitchen sink soup” when you visited. If someone he knew needed a helping hand Phege would offer what he could. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He had a heart of gold and was always there for the ones he loved; he will be missed.
He is predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Alice (DesRosier) Landry; and siblings, Bertrand Landry, Loria Landry, and Giselle Landry.
Phege is survived and cherished by his two daughters, Dianne M. Landry of Derry, NH and Susan M. (Landry) Huebel and her husband, William J. Huebel of Strafford, NH. Phege is also survived by several siblings, Glorianne (Landry) Nadeau Morill, of St. Rose Deglis, CA; Carmen(Landry) Roy and her husband, Noel Roy of St. Rose Deglis, CA; Theodore Landry and his wife, Gaetanne (Beaulieu) Landry; Margerette “Margot” (Landry) Lebel of Montreal, Berthier Landry and his wife, Pricille (Paradis) Landry of Derry, NH, Gaetanne (Landry) Farlate and her husband, Gerome Farlate of Gaspe, PQ,and Victeur Landry and his wife, Francine (Gauvin) Landry of Salem, NH.
