Ellen C. Gilliam's Obituary
Chevy Chase, MD – Ellen C. Gilliam, 61 of Chevy Chase, MD, died Monday, June 7, 2021 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
Born in Washington, DC on November 23, 1959, she was the daughter of Clare M. (Heinrich) Gilliam of Chevy Chase, MD and the late Frederick P. Gilliam. She graduated valedictorian from Chelsea High School in Silver Spring, MD. She worked as a clerk with the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, DC for over 30 years. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling, and keeping up on current events.
Ellen will be deeply missed by her mother, Clare, and 3 siblings, Frederick Philips Gilliam, Jr. of Chevy Chase, MD, Leila Maksymiec and her husband, William, of Washington, DC, and Neil Gilliam of Chevy Chase, MD
At the request of the family, services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or at www.dana-farber.org. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen is honored to serve the Gilliam family.
