Elizabeth Ross Wilson's Obituary
Elizabeth Ross Wilson, age 100 yrs and 6 months (as she would say), died on Monday, August 3, 2020. She was a resident of Ashland Farm in North Andover, MA. She was born in Lawrence, MA on January 27, 1920 to William and Helen Ross of Andover, MA. Betty worked most of her life as an executive secretary for General Tire and Rubber Company, and Bolta Products Division in Lawrence, MA where she retired from there in her 70’s. She had a great love of all animals and volunteered for several years at the MSPCA-Nevins Farm in Methuen, MA. Her two most beloved cats, Bijoux and Patches, with whom she spent many loving years were both Ragdolls that she adopted from the MSPCA.
Betty loved to travel and went on many exciting trips with friends to many different countries around the world. One of her most memorable trips, perhaps because of her love of animals, was to Africa. She would often talk of how exciting that trip was for her. Betty was also very talented in crafts and made many beautiful rugs, hooked, braided, and oriental punched. She could knit, crochet, sew, make wreaths, and do anything with her hands. She was generous with her time and talent to help anyone in need with a project.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late John E. Wilson, whom she married on May 30, 1943. She was the devoted mother of John E. Wilson Jr. and his wife Lynda of Windham, ME, and Gail J. Morin and her late husband Tom of Fairfield, VT. She was the dear sister of the late William Ross, Jr.
