Elaine M. Dupuis' Obituary
Elaine M. (Balukonis) Dupuis, 80, of Salem, New Hampshire, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick W. “Tiny” Dupuis.
Born in Methuen, Massachusetts on May 26, 1945, Elaine was the daughter of the late Victor A. and Julia M. (Valeska) Balukonis. A proud graduate of Tenney High School in Methuen, Class of 1963, she carried the strong work ethic and community spirit of her hometown throughout her life.
Elaine began her career as an assembler at ITT Semiconductor in Lawrence, followed by several years as a solderer for diodes at Unitrode in Methuen. She later earned her nursing assistant certificate from Salem Haven in Salem, New Hampshire, and compassionately served as a nursing aide there for several years. For more than twenty years, she worked as an Emergency Room Admitting Clerk at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, where her calm presence and caring nature brought comfort to countless patients and families during difficult moments. In her later years, she worked part-time as a cashier at Shaw’s Supermarket in Salem and then at Walmart in Salem until her retirement in 2020.
A devoted animal lover, Elaine found great joy in the companionship of her beloved poodles. She also enjoyed quiet evenings working on her tablet—whether playing games, completing coloring pages, or researching topics that sparked her curiosity. She particularly loved relaxing with a good movie on television.
Elaine will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her two sons, Brian W. Dupuis and Frederick W. Dupuis, Jr., both of Salem, New Hampshire; her sisters, Joyce Timmons and her husband Earle of Salem, New Hampshire, and Gloria Rapa of Salem, New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Angelo Rapa.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Elaine’s life during calling hours on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Methuen Family Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, Massachusetts. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, New Hampshire.
