Eileen J. Hayes' Obituary
Eileen J. Hayes, 82, of Methuen, MA, passed away in her home on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Eileen was born in Lawrence, MA, to the late John F. and Jeannette E (Gingras) Hayes.
She graduated from St. Augustine’s School, St. Mary High School, University of Massachusetts Lowell, and received her Master’s Degree from University of Massachusetts Salem.
Eileen taught elementary school at the Pleasant Valley and Comprehensive Grammer School for over forty years. After retirement she was an adjunct professor supervising student teachers at UMass Lowell.
Eileen will be sadly missed but forever in the hearts of her family- brother, John M. “Jack” Hayes of Lawrence, MA, nephew, Michael J. White and his wife, Christi of Herndon, VA, as well as several cousins.
Eileen was predeceased by her sister, Phyllis M. White and her husband, Victor J. White (Col. USAF retired), beloved niece Elise M. White and her significant other, Bob Nolan.
The Hayes family would like to thank Eileen’s cousin, Debbie and friends, Linda and Ann who helped and cared for her during her declining years.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Calling Hours from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Methuen Family Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, November 8, at St. Theresa Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, N. Lowell Street, Methuen, MA.
