Eileen H. (DeLotto) Baggetta's Obituary
Methuen ? Eileen H. (DeLotto) Baggetta, 77, of Methuen, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton.
She was born in Lawrence, the daughter of the late Natalie and Florence (Mignorelli) DeLotto. She was a longtime employee of First National Grocery. She then owned and operated Eileen's Variety on Prospect Street and then worked as an auditor for Lucent Technologies for many years until her retirement in 2000.
She was a member of the Pioneers of America. In her free time, Eileen enjoyed playing 45's and dominos, taking trips to Foxwoods, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She made it a point to attend all of her grandchildren's sporting events. She also loved cooking and was known for "nana's famous meatballs." The Boston Red Sox were her passion.
Mrs. Baggetta was formerly married to A. Robert Baggetta.
Eileen will be deeply missed by her son, Nicholas Baggetta and his wife, Karen of Methuen; two daughters, Cathy Hylton and her husband, Ricki of Methuen and Roberta Downer and her husband, Ted of Bradford; 2 brothers, Robert DeLotto and Gerald DeLotto and his wife, Carole; 7 grandchildren, Robert and Michael Hylton, Nicholas and Alex Baggetta, and Ava, Lauren, and Michael Downer; several nieces and nephews; and her cat, Rosie.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Eileen's life by gathering for a Funeral Mass at St. Monica's Church in Methuen on Saturday, August 10th at 11 AM. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, in Eileen's honor, memorial contributions be made to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
