Edward S. Raidy's Obituary
Edward S. Raidy, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Brightview Senior Living in North Andover, MA, following a brief battle with dementia.
Born on December 7, 1935—Pearl Harbor Day—Edward proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964, stationed at Fort Devens in Ayer, MA. On Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Florence M. Raidy, who predeceased him. Together, they shared 66 years of devoted marriage.
Edward and Florence spent over two decades lovingly maintaining their home in Methuen, MA, where they hosted countless family holiday gatherings that became treasured traditions. Edward enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a Product Quality Engineer with Bull Electronics (formerly Honeywell) until his retirement in 1998.
In retirement, Edward and Florence spent cherished time with family and friends at their lakeside home on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. Ed’s greatest joys were fishing, spending time with friends, and being surrounded by family. He and Florence frequently welcomed their longtime “fishing buddies” for memorable trips, and their freezer was always well-stocked with fresh-caught fish.
Devoted parishioners of St. Monica Parish, Ed and Florence were active members of the church community and deeply valued the friendships formed there, often gathering after Mass to share updates and fellowship.
He is survived by his two daughters, Deborah A. Nolan and her husband, Jay and Geraldine M. Silveira; as well three grandsons, Ryan Nolan and his wife, Raquel, Zachary Silveira, and Ian Silveira and his wife, Lia; and his granddaughter, Samira.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
