Edward G. Groswald's Obituary
Edward G. Groswald, age 91 of Methuen passed away on April 5, 2020. Edward was born in Methuen on May 25, 1928 to the late Gotfried and Ottilie Groswald. Following his graduation from the Searles High School in 1946, Edward proudly served his country in the United States Navy for two years. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Edward began his life-long construction career with a degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Edward worked on many construction projects throughout his career but he was most proud of the time he spent working as a construction superintendent at Logan International Airport, Methuen High School, Holy Family Hospital and Londonderry High School. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. #65 Lawrence. Edward enjoyed swimming, reading, spending time with his family, playing shuffle board, and playing golf with his nephew Danny. He also enjoyed summers at his “summer cottage” by the pool.
Edward was the beloved husband of the late Lourdes (Andrews) Groswald. He was the devoted father of Gail Groswald, Paula Gaudette and her husband Jim and stepfather of Kenneth Connors and his wife Barbara. Edward was the loving grandfather of Holly, Kaley, Jaclyn, Danny, Kelly, Tara, and Rory. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren. Edward’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the many home health caretakers that assisted him throughout the years.
All services will be held at a later date. For online guestbook, please visit the funeral home website, www.pollardfuneralhome.com. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Groswald Family.
