Edward Dimmock III's Obituary
Edward Dimmock III, age 88 of Methuen passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023. Edward was born in Lawrence on July 2, 1934 to the late Edward Dimmock II and the late Margaret (Parker) Oliver. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War Era. He was a disabled veteran. He was a graduate of Bentley University, being the first in his family to obtain a college degree. For 41 years, Edward worked in accounting at Western Electric. Edward was on the board of directors at Merrimack Valley Credit Union, where he also served as their treasurer for many years. In the 1970’s, Edward was an advisor in Junior Achievement. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with his family. Edward was a long time communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa’s Parish, where he also was a CCD teacher and Lector.
Edward was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Lemieux) Dimmock, with whom he shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Debra Joubert and her husband Robert, David Dimmock and his wife Barbara and Elizabeth Dimmock-Parnell and her husband George Parnell. Edward was the dear brother of Dorothy Hillison and Richard Arnald, the late Judith Laurette, the late Albert Dimmock, and the late Earl Dimmock. He was the loving grandfather of Jillian Joubert, Stephanie Russo, Andrew Martin, Spencer Martin, and Alexander Dimmock. Edward was the cherished great-grandfather of Bella Russo and Shay Russo.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa’s Parish, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen.
