Edna V. Sierpina's Obituary
Edna V. (Domoradzki) Sierpina, 92, died Friday December 22 at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. She was born on February 2, 1925 to Martin and Sophie (Drzymala) Domoradzki and was a lifelong resident of Methuen. Edna attended Methuen schools and was a graduate of Edward Searles High School, class of 1942. Following her retirement from Western Electric, she, with husband Max, was owner of Sierpina’s Tree Farm. After the closure of Holy Trinity Church in Lawrence, she became a parishioner of St. Monica’s Church. Prior to her illness, she was an active member of VFW Post 8349 Auxiliary.
Edna was predeceased by Max Sierpina, her husband of 68 years. She was also predeceased by her sisters Emily Kulig, Genevieve Kobos and Helen Sierpina as well as her brothers Dominick and Thaddeus Domoradzki.
Edna is survived by her children Frank (Beverly) Sierpina, Daniel (Kathie) Sierpina and Joanne,(Joseph) Majewski and 8 grandchildren - Lori Simons, Michael Sierpina, Kathleen Carlton, Carl Majewski, Jeremy Majewski, Elizabeth Fernands, Anne Jenkins and Stephanie Putland. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 on Friday, December 29, 2017 at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen. Edna’s nephew Fr. Martin Kobos O.F.M. Conv. will officiate her funeral Mass. Burial will take place following the Mass at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 10 Ingalls Ct., Methuen, MA 01844 or Beacon Hospice, 290 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA 01843.
