Edna D. Charest's Obituary
Methuen – Edna D. (Naujoks) Charest, 88 of Methuen, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, October 21, 2019 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late Phidime “Footsie” J. Charest.
Born in Queens, NY on May 28, 1931, Edna was the daughter of Hans and Anna (Gebauer) Naujoks. She graduated from Northern Essex Community College and worked as a travel agent with AAA Travel Agency in Lawrence for many years. She was a member and past board member of the New England Rose Society and was very involved in the Methuen Garden Club. Edna loved animals especially her cats Finn and Baby, spending countless hours in her garden, traveling with her granddaughters, spending time at the ocean with her son and playing bridge at the Methuen Senior Center. She held a special place in her heart for her three great grandchildren.
Edna will be deeply missed by her son, Raymond J. Charest of Methuen; 3 granddaughters, Jessica Gagnon and her husband, James of Manchester, NH, Elizabeth Burgess and her husband, Stephen of Londonderry, NH, and Savannah Kinney and her fiancé, Will Caffey of Methuen and Austin, TX; 3 great grandchildren, Jake, Robert, and Callie; several nieces and nephews and a dear neighbor Kevin Lynch. She is predeceased by her sister, Helga Pontbriand and her brother, Walter Naujoks.
At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Edna’s life by gathering for a Celebration of Life reception, which will be held on Wednesday, October 30th, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Salvatore’s Event and Conference Center, 354 Merrimack St, Lawrence MA.
