Edmund B. Lozowski's Obituary
Edmund B. Lozowski, age 86 of Lowell and formerly of Lawrence passed away peacefully on March 28, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Edmund was born in Lowell on November 23, 1932. He was raised in Lowell by his grandparents Petri and Helena Lozowski. Edmund was a long-time laborer for the Laborers International Union, Local 175. He attended Lawrence High School and left school to enlist in the United States Army during the Korean War. During his service in the Army, Edmund was wounded in action in Korea and received a Purple Heart.
Edmund was always willing to help others, for many years he would pick up food in Lowell and bring it to Lawrence to distribute to the Lawrence Veterans Food Bank. He enjoyed walking regularly all over the City of Lawrence. During these walks Edmund would share his wealth of knowledge about the history of the City of Lawrence with whomever joined him on the multiple mile walk. He enjoyed building model airplanes and model trains. Edmund also enjoyed putting together large puzzles, smoking cigars and a pipe, and sharpening knives while watching his beloved Boston sports teams. He will be remembered as a jokester who always found a way to bring light during a dark time.
Edmund was the beloved husband of the late Mildred (Edwards) Lozowski with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of John Lozowski and his wife Kathleen, Janet Reynolds, the late Paul Lozowski and his surviving spouse Doris, and the late Carl Lozowski and his surviving spouse Marygrace. Edmund was the loving grandfather of Meghan, Sean, John, Christopher, Katelyn, Michael, Melanie, Ryan, Christine, Edward and Karl. He is also survived by his great-grandson Nathan.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Lawrence.
