Eddie Monta ez's Obituary
LAWRENCE ? Eddie Monta ez, 50 a long time resident of Lawrence passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 surrounded by his beloved family.
Eddie was born on May 2, 1965 in Patillas, Puerto Rico and moved to Lawrence with his family at the age of 2 years old. His mother, Rosa Monta ez cared for Eddie for the past 34 years in her home. Eddie completed his freshman year at Lawrence High School and was a sophomore when he became ill in December, 1981.
Eddie was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. He enjoyed playing JV baseball, football and basketball during his freshman year. He also loved to dance and play tricks on his nieces and nephews. He was the youngest of 12 children.
He is survived by his mother, Rosa Monta ez, and his brothers and sisters, Asuncion Monta ez, Juan Monta ez Jr. and his (deceased) wife Lorraine, Jose Monta ez and wife Cecilia, Jenny Monta ez-Mejia, Olga Monta ez-Gonzalez, Minerva Monta ez-Gonzalez and husband Nelson Gonzalez, Hector Monta ez, Milli Monta ez-Santiago, Zulma Monta ez, Carmen Monta ez-Flores and husband Miguel Flores, Ernesto Monta ez and wife Elis, Efrain Monta ez and wife Gloria, Dolores Colon and friend, Judy DeJesus, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He will be forever loved and missed. Thank you to all who tended to Eddie during these past 34 years. We would like to extend our gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Lawrence General Hospital for providing Eddie exceptional care.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Eddie?s life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. His funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 205 Hampshire Street, Lawrence. Burial will follow at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
