Dorothy Agnes (Kerr) Murgia's Obituary
Dorothy Agnes (Kerr) Murgia, Andover, MA, died September 6, 2022, at her home at the age of 101. Born in Lawrence, MA, beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Murgia, Mother of Elizabeth A. Zappelli of Winchester, Robert K. Murgia and his wife Nancy of Stoneham, and Michael R. Murgia and his wife Deanna of Stoneham, two grandchildren, Robert K. Murgia Jr. and his wife Amy of Stoneham, Jillian Marie Grant and her husband Todd of Fairhaven, and two great grandchildren, Elliott and Alexandra Grant.
Dorothy graduated from Lawrence High School and Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Winchester Hospital, Winchester, MA, where she also volunteered after her retirement. Dorothy was a longtime member of Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham, MA.
At Dottie’s request, there will be no visiting hours. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service at the "Chapel at West Parish Cemetery" located across from # 215 Lowell Street, (Rt. 133), in Andover MA on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 11:00am. Interment will be at the family lot at West Parish Cemetery Burial Ground. At Dottie’s request, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to: Grace Episcopal Church, 29 Jackson Street, Lawrence, MA 01840.
