Dorothy I. Chamberlain's Obituary
Dorothy I. (Dushame) Chamberlain, 91 of Methuen passed away after a short period of declining health on Thursday Nov. 24, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Carrie (Millar) Dushame. She was born in Lawrence MA and raised and educated in North Andover, MA graduating from Johnson High School.
The widow of Lawrence FF (Ret) Robert J. Chamberlain, she was pre-deceased by her son Richard Chamberlain in 2020. She was also pre-deceased by her siblings Corinne Mitchell, Leslie Dushame and Harold Dushame.
She is survived by her sister Carolyn Solomon of Murfreesboro, TN, daughter and son-in-law Carol and John Berube of Methuen, daughter-in-law Kathleen Chamberlain of Dracut, her grandchildren; Robert Berube, John and wife Julie Berube, Caitlyn and husband Lucas Kelliher, Corey Chamberlain and fiancé Shannon Freyer, Shannon Chamberlain, and great granddaughter Layla Berube. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially the Galle and King families and by wonderful neighbors Maryann and Bruce.
Her happiest times were spent with her children and grandchildren, especially the past year with her great-granddaughter Layla. She loved spending days at the beach, particularly at Wells Beach, ME. She was an avid sports fan and never missed any of her grandchildren’s games, tournaments, or dance recitals. She could always be found on Sundays sitting on her couch watching the Patriots.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Lawrence General Hospital, Prescott House and Northeast Rehab for the wonderful care given to her.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral service will be held immediately following the calling hours, beginning promptly at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Bellevue cemetery immediately following the service.
