Doris Catherine (Grenier) Carrier's Obituary
Doris Catherine (Grenier) Carrier, 73, longtime resident of Methuen passed away at home on August 25, 2020 surrounded by family. Born in Lawrence on May 22, 1947 to the late Wilfred and Stella (Nical) Grenier, she graduated from Lawrence High School with the Class of 1966. After graduation, Doris worked for many years as a loan processor for Arlington Trust until her early retirement and recently as a retail clerk for CVS. As a selfless woman, she volunteered countless hours over the years at Sacred Heart Church and St Patrick’s. Doris was the beloved matriarch of her family who was very active in her children’s lives when they were younger. She enjoyed many of life’s quiet activities and playing bingo. Doris will fondly be loved, cherished and missed by all.
Doris is survived by her two dear children; her daughter Michelle Carrier of Lawrence and her son John Carrier of Methuen. She was the beloved grandmother to her three grandchildren; Sarah, Logan and Aerin Hardcastle. Doris is also survived by her two cherished sisters, Jane Whitney of Sacramento, CA and Louise Walsh of Reisterstown, MD, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her favorite and loving companion, her cat, Misty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Helena Delaney.
A Funeral Service will be held for Doris Carrier on September 12,2020 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 390 Main Street in North Andover, Massachusetts at 10AM. Due to COVID restrictions, the service is limited to family only. There will be an Open House at the home of Michelle Carrier at 35 Groton Street from 11:30-2:00 for anyone who would like to come and share their memories of Doris In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the Nevin’s MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
