Doris Y. (Lacharite) Cummings' Obituary
Doris Y. Cummings, 98, a sixty year resident of Chelmsford, MA, passed away at home on May 7, 2025, following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis G. Cummings for sixty-five years.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Euclide and Blanche (Bergeron) Lacharite, and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She was employed by Raytheon for fifteen years and was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
Throughout her life, Doris took pleasure in providing for her family and friends. She knitted sweaters and mittens for her children and grandchildren, and hosted many family dinners bringing family together to share stories and enjoy good food. Her favorite pastime was playing cards, which she did up until her death.
She is survived by her three children, Christine Wisnes of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Susan Cummings of Arnold, Maryland, and Daniel Cummings and his wife, Kimberly, of Nashua, New Hampshire; six grandchildren, Michael Wisnes, Matthew Zeigenfuse, Emily Zeigenfuse, Nora Zeigenfuse, Patrick Cummings, and Bryan Cummings; seven great grandchildren, Aislin, Nathaniel, and AJ Wisnes, Brian and Sloane McAllister, Keira Cummings, and Parker Shevrin; and two special nieces.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Calling Hours from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen, Massachusetts. A Funeral Service for Doris will start at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, followed by burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Barker St., Lawrence, MA.
