Donald J. Laliberte's Obituary
Donald J. Laliberte, 78, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully on January 13, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Don, formerly of Methuen, attended Saint Rita’s Grammar School, Central Catholic High School and graduated with honors from Lowell Technological Institute with a master’s degree in electrical engineering. Don enlisted in the Air Force and spent four years serving his country with pride. He spent a tour in Vietnam working on F–105 and F–106 fighter jets.
Don was employed by Raytheon Missile Systems as an electrical engineer. He worked in the Bedford, Tewksbury, and Andover locations and eventually transferred in 1999 to Tucson, Arizona, where he finished his career of 46 years. Don was an avid golfer, loved to ski, read, and was a Drum Corps enthusiast. He was a long time parishioner at Saint Monica‘s Catholic Church in Methuen and All Saints Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona.
Don was the son of Donald and Madeleine Laliberte. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 46 years, Claire (Langlais). Don is survived by his children, Michelle Roy and her partner, Rebecca Trzinski, Michael Laliberte and his wife Cathleen, sisters, Judith Small and her husband Howard, Nance Angelone and her husband Richard, Joanne Buck and her husband Hilton. He is also survived by and was devoted to his 9 grandchildren, Emma, Olivia, Grace and Abby Roy, Emma Calnan, Michael Roy, and Atticus, Maddox and Urban Trzinski as well as a niece and several nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Don‘s life on Saturday, March 7, from 10:00 to 11:30 followed by a short prayer service from 11:30 to 12 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a contribution in Don‘s name to the Gary Sinise Foundation.
