Diane Lynn Avery's Obituary
Diane Lynn (Dowd) Avery, 70 a longtime resident of Methuen passed away April 26, 2026 at Lawrence General Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Hartford, CT, and educated in Methuen, MA, Diane was the daughter of the late William and Shirley (Vieweg) Dowd. For many years she was employed with the Internal Revenue Service as a claims processor before retirement.
Diane was an avid New England sports fan. She especially loved watch the New England Patriots and enjoyed the Boston Celtics too. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
The mother of the late Jason Avery, Diane is survived by her sister Carol Margolien of Salem, NH and her brother Bill Dowd of Florida. She also leaves her partner John Scribner of Methuen, MA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her son and parents, Diane was predeceased by her two brothers, Thomas Derochers and Neal Dowd.
