David Baker White

David Baker White, age 79 of Andover, MA, died Friday, September 16th after a valiant 7-year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. David was a proud life-long resident of Andover. The son of the late Winthrop K. and Elsie White, he graduated from Punchard High in 1955 and, along with his former/late wife Priscilla (Thompson) White, raised their three children in town. Following high school, he served in the Naval Reserves as a SeaBee, was employed by the neighboring Colombosian family as one of the first delivery drivers for Colombo Yogurt. He later started his own company, David B. White & Son, which developed into North Atlantic Recycling, Inc. For many years, he served on the Andover Auxiliary Police Department. In semi-retirement, he drove for Georgia Pacific and was also an independent owner operator. David is survived by his three children: David W. White of Missouri, Barbara R. White of Leominster, MA, and Elizabeth (Betsy) and her husband Charles Raymond of Ashby, MA; and his siblings: Barbara E. and her husband Kenneth Sager of Washington, ME, Henry K. and his wife Cynthia White of Chester, NH, Nancy R. Barker of Washington, ME, and Charlotte W. and her husband Earl ?Lefty? Wilcox of Chester, NH. He is also survived by seven beautiful grandchildren: Micaela Dolan; Kelsey, Mitchell, Rebecca, and Timothy White; and Emily and Bradley Raymond, as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 22nd from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 AM at the South Church in Andover, MA. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover, MA.
