Clarence Anderson Jr.'s Obituary
Clarence Anderson Jr
Sunrise 8/25/1942-Sunset 11/24/2023
Clarence Anderson Jr. of Methuen, MA quietly and unexpectedly departed on November 24, 2023, at Steward Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA surrounded by his beloved Jean O’Dowd, his children and a host of grandchildren, following a long a battle with health challenges.
He was born in Jacksonville, FL. on August 25, 1942. He and his mother relocated to Cambridge, MA at the age of 8 years old where he then attended the Blessed Sacrament school until he was removed for bringing sneezing powder to class. (lol) He then attended the Webster School to complete his junior high education. He spent some time attending Cambridge Rindge and Latin and later obtained his GED from Lawrence Schools Adult Education.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie L Harris of Cambridge, MA and Clarence Anderson Sr. of Cincinnati Ohio as well as his sister Estarr Harris. Tragically he was also preceded in death by three of his children, Michelle Lee Anderson-Neal, Clarence Anderson Jr and Derrick Sean Anderson.
He leaves to mourn, his beloved Jean O’Dowd, his children Jean (Harris-Anderson) Albert, Keith Smith, Aileen Smith, Dorothy (Tot) Anderson, Clifford Weaver and Nicole Fleming-Anderson.
His siblings, Jacques SaintMarc, Linda (Harris) Gil, Jessie L Harris, Linda Anderson Hocker and Alfphonso Anderson.
He also leaves a beautiful village of 25 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews.
Clarence spent the better part of his life (the last 30years) with the love of his life Jean O’Dowd experiencing the peace he had sought that had previously eluded him.
Anyone who had the opportunity to cross paths with Clarence, knows that he was a multi-faceted character. Clarence was known as a master of cutlery. (If you know you know). All jokes aside, he was an obsessive car enthusiast. With his impeccable fashion sense and flair for the dramatic, he always knew how to make an entrance.
Clarence lived life to the fullest and on his own terms. He will be greatly missed but will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for your comfort and support during this difficult time.
** There will be a celebration of life for Clarence at a later date.
Donations in his memory can be made to the Mass Commission for the Blind
