Cindy Marie Palen's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy Marie Palen, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. Cindy, 64 of Raymond, NH, passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2023 at her home.
Cindy was born in Methuen, MA, on January 22, 1959, daughter to the late Robert and Rita (Paquin) LaPlante. She was the adored wife of Jon Peter Palen, to whom she was married for 40 years.
Her career as a nurse spanned over 40 years. Most recently she worked as an RN in maternity, passionately caring for new babies entering the world.
Cindy celebrated life every chance that she could. She was truly adventurous and cherished the outdoors from the mountain tops to the seashore. Some of her fondest memories are from the years spent traveling the world with her husband, Jon, and closest friends. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Jon; 3 children: son, Joshua Palen and wife Adrienne; son, Peter Palen and partner Kerri Wear, and daughter, Emily McCook and husband Ryan; 4 grandchildren, Maggie, Reese, Sophia, and Jackson, due in November; her brother, James LaPlante; her sisters, Cheryl Thompson and Karen LaPlante; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Cindy’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will take place at 7 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
