Charlene H. Williams' Obituary
Charlene H. Williams, 66, passed away at Lawrence General Hospital following emergency surgery. Born in Lawrence, Charlene was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Eleanor (Hildebrandt) Williams. She was predeceased by her beloved spouse Marion E. Montgomery. She was educated in Lawrence schools and received her EMT before beginning her nursing career. She received her LPN from Tewksbury Hospital in 1973 and began her 24 year career at Lawrence General Hospital. She continued her education at the University of Massachusetts where she received her BSN in 1984 and was a member of the National Honor Society. During her career at Lawrence General Hospital she received her certification in Medical Surgical Nursing and earned the “Most Concerned Employee” award. Charlene was a member of ANA, National Honor Society, MSPCA, Humane Society, American Diabetes Association and Make a Wish Foundation.
Charlene loved spending time with her late spouse, best friend, and partner Marion E. Montgomery, traveling and gardening. Charlene will be remembered for her love of animals and her deep devotion to her dogs. She is survived by her brother, Brian A. Williams, her cousin, Andrew Hildebrandt, her aunt, Doris Williams, three nieces, several grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grand nephews, as well as her friend and caretaker, Rob Cormier.
