Chanel E. Fredette's Obituary
Chanel E. Fredette, 90, longtime resident of Haverhill and the Merrimack Valley passed away peacefully on June 8, 2020 at Lawrence General Hospital. Born in Lawrence on May 14, 1930, Chanel was loved by all who knew him. He joined the Army at the young age of 17 but was called home to care for his sick mother. Chanel was a family man who always worked multiple jobs to take care of his nine children. He worked at Lucent Technologies and retired in 1990 after working 39 years. He was so proud of being the patriarch of his large family. He enjoyed being with the ones he loved.
Chanel is pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Delia M. Fredette who passed away 6 months ago. He leaves behind nine children; his sons Robert Fredette and his wife Maura of Methuen; Raymond Fredette and his wife Kandie of Lawrence; Michael Fredette of Lawrence; Paul Fredette of Lowell; James Fredette of Foxborough and his daughters Susan Blaikie and her husband John of Derry; Linda Fredette of Haverhill (whom he resided with); Diane Adams and her husband Raymond of Salem; Karen Thibault and her husband Michael of Methuen. He was a cherished grandfather to his 19 grandchildren and great-grandfather to his 23 great-grandchildren. Chanel is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Rene Fredette, Lorraine Tremblay and Doris Harrington. Chanel will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Lucy's Church, of Methuen. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker Street, Lawrence.
