Catherine Ann (Routhier) Bonin's Obituary
Catherine Ann Bonin, 63, longtime resident of Methuen, formerly of Lawrence, passed away surrounded by her devoted family on October 17, 2018, after fighting a brief but courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Cathy was born on August 14, 1955 to the late Henry and Shirley (Rogers) Routhier in Lawrence. Raised and educated in Lawrence, she graduated from Lawrence High School with the Class of 1973. Cathy was a lifelong devout Catholic, who was a communicant at Saint Monica’s Church. She worked for many years as a real estate administrator for the firms of, The Boston Leasing Group, Prudential Howe & Doherty, and the Valley Forum.
Cathy was a fun filled loving woman with friends the world over. She was a funny, outgoing, straight forward woman who lit up the room with her smile. She was very well travelled, having visited over fourteen countries. Cathy loved spending time with family and friends at her beach house at North Beach in Hampton NH. She touched many lives in many different circles, and will fondly be loved, cherished, and missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard J. Bonin, with whom she celebrated 28 years of marriage together. She was the devoted mother to her daughter, Leah Bonin and her boyfriend James Crimmins, both of Methuen. She was the dear sister to David Routhier of Newburyport. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law MaryAnn Marino, Dorie Dimarca, JoAnn Smith and husband Daniel Smith, Robert and wife Gail Bonin, as well as nine nieces and nephews, a great niece and nephew and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation for Catherine will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 2 – 6 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 9 AM at Saint Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Interment to follow at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker Street, Lawrence.
