Catherine S. Lahey's Obituary
Catherine S. Lahey, 66 of Methuen, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 27, 2023. Catherine was born on November 25, 1956 in London, England, to the late Richard Pfefferman and June (French) Pfefferman.
She spent her early years in England and California, later moving to the Merrimack Valley where she was educated in Methuen Public Schools, graduating from Tenney High School class of 1974. Cathi worked at Western Electric and Wang Laboratories before dedicating her time to her children. Once her children reached school age, she rejoined the workforce as a lunch lady feeding the children of Methuen for over 20 years. Cathi was a voracious reader and loved a good mystery or a good beach read. She enjoyed basking in the sun at the beach and being poolside with her family. She appreciated a good cuppa tea and wasn’t afraid of a strong lemon drop martini or blue margarita. She was a hopeless cook, but compensated with her tremendous taste in music and sense of humor. Her grandchildren were her greatest love.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Giles Grenier.
Cathi will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 40 years, Robert P. Lahey of Methuen; her children, Rob J. Lahey and Kelly A. Lahey, both of Methuen; her sister, Laura Dolce and spouse, David, of Salem, NH; two cherished grandchildren, Bobby and Jack, of Methuen; step-father, George Grenier of Salem, NH; brother-in-law, Bill Lahey and his wife, Emily of Salem, NH; sister-in-law Sandra Pena and her husband Al of San Antonio, TX; two step-brothers Tony and John Pfefferman of Green Bay, WI; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many extended family members, coworkers, students and friends.
Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the heroic efforts of the Methuen Fire Department, Lawrence General paramedics and Lawrence General Emergency Center staff.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to honor and celebrate Catherine’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 4 – 8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 1st at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa’s Parish, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA.
