Carolyn C. Winn's Obituary
Carolyn (Cox) Winn, formerly of Methuen and Bonita Springs Florida, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025.
Carolyn was born in Methuen on March 2, 1932 to Thomas P. Cox and Doris (Dowding).
Carolyn was raised in Methuen and was educated in the local school system. After graduating from Searles High School, she worked as a secretary for the State of Massachusetts before becoming a stay at home mother. Carolyn considered raising her family of four daughters and one son as her greatest accomplishment. She enjoyed participating in activities with her children. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and attended countless dance recitals, wrestling matches, and marching band competitions. She was active in St. Monica’s Parish during this time. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was the Regent of her chapter for a number of years. Carolyn retired with her husband George to Bonita Springs, Florida where she enjoyed swimming and socializing at the club house pool and the beautiful Florida weather for 25 years, prior to moving back to the Methuen area to be closer to family.
Carolyn was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late George F. Winn, Jr. She was the loving mother of Dr. Kathleen Winn and her husband Tony Suhartono of Phippsburg ME., Steve Winn and his wife Debbie (Martin) of Pelham, NH.,
Nancy Ramirez and her husband Al of Hudson, NH., Janice Nohelty and her husband Mike of Pelham, NH., Cindy Quinn and her husband Jim of Merrimac, MA. She was the cherished grandmother her eleven grandchildren; Jeffrey, Stephanie, Danielle, Sabrina, Jillian, Carly, Megan, Stephen, Amanda, Benjamin and Maureen. She also received great joy from her great grandchildren; Winnie, Zoe, Ella, Marina, Kamden, Sara, Xavier, Noah and Liam. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy (Cox) Beaulieu.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held in the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen Sunday 1-4pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen at 10am. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
