Carolyn Plantamura's Obituary
Carolyn DeSimone Plantamura passed away at her home in Morristown, NJ, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the age of 96.
Carolyn was a native of Lawrence, MA and a graduate of Boston University. She was predeceased by Arthur (“Kelly”) Plantamura, her husband of 62 years.
Carolyn is survived by son, Michael and his wife, Mary of Kensington, MD; daughters, Lisa of Mt. Tabor, NJ; Andrea of Morristown, NJ; and Carrie of Whippany, NJ; grandsons, Joe and his wife, Paisley; Jack; Dominic and his wife, Sarah; and Danny; and great-grandson, Viggo.
Carolyn was employed for many years as an executive assistant at James Finlay Company, a tea importing business in Morristown. She was an active member of Resurrection Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was a longtime member of the Women of Faith group. Carolyn was skilled in sewing, knitting, and needlework of all sorts, and shared her talents with gifts of her handiwork. She was an extraordinary cook, and her lasagna, Italian wedding soup, and cheesecake were renowned. Most of all, Carolyn was devoted to her family. She was a caring and generous mother and grandmother and was thrilled to welcome her great-grandson, Viggo, to the family in May 2023.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ (www.tuttlefh.com). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Resurrection Parish, 651 Millbrook Avenue, Randolph, NJ.
A prayer service will also be offered at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 10 a.m. followed by entombment at St. Mary’s – Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center with a designation to the Soothing Paws Program.
