Carl J Kellerer Jr.'s Obituary
Carl J. Kellerer Jr., age 79, of Methuen, former longtime resident of Lawrence, passed away at home on November 19, 2018 surrounded by his devoted family. Born in Lawrence on February 20, 1939 to the late Carl and Mary (Callahan) Kellerer, he attended Central Catholic High School graduating with the Class of 1957. After graduating from high school, Carl enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and was a veteran. He was a lifelong devout Catholic, serving as a communicant at St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence. Carl worked for many years as a supervisor at Malden Mills until his retirement. Carl was a devoted family man who enjoyed the many simple pleasures in life. He loved to listen to old music, especially that of Frank Sinatra, watch old movies, going on long country rides and spending time with his children and granchildren. Carl loved the City of Lawrence and all it’s history.
Carl is survived by his three beloved children; his son, Peter Kellerer, his son, Scott Kellerer and his daughter, Patricia LeGrow and her husband Ryan, all of Methuen. He is also the dear grandfather to Heather Gallagher, Sean and Mary Kellerer, Ryan, Aiden and Emma LeGrow. He was the cherished great-grandfather to Grace and Brayden Gallagher. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Joyce, Robert, Thomas, John and Kathleen, and his aunt Marie DeLisle of Epping, NH. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his son Daniel Kellerer and his former wife Judith (Earley) Kellerer and sister, Barbara Kellerer McEneaney.
Visitation for Carl will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA 01844. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, at the conclusion of calling hours. To honor Carl’s wishes, internment will be private.
