Barbara Ann Sullivan's Obituary
Barbara Ann Sullivan (Willette), 93 years old, of Methuen, MA (previously Andover, MA) passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Nevins Nursing Home in Methuen, surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara is the daughter of the late Joseph D. and Alice (Dobbins) Willette.
Barbara is survived by her children: James Sullivan, Jr. of Upstate New York, Denise Culbert of North Andover, MA, Michael (Cheryle) Sullivan of Methuen, MA, Barbara (Dusty) Cassell and Mary (David) Lawton, of Hudson, NH, Brian (Cheryl) Sullivan of Methuen, MA, Robert (Laura) Sullivan of Haverhill, MA. Barbara is pre-deceased by her daughter Sharon Couture and son, Timothy Sullivan; her beloved brother, Donald Willette; and sister, Dorothy Couture Gamache.
She is lovingly survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She brought a nurturing spirit to her work at Suz’Ann Ren’s Coffee Shop, where she made every customer feel like family and later serving for ten years at Raytheon Andover’s cafeteria. A faithful communicant of St. Patrick Parish in Lawrence, Barbara found strength in her faith and community.
Barbara’s group of friends is countless, and she loved spending time with them going to Foxwoods Casino, country dancing, shopping, restaurants, late nights at Dunkin Donuts with the girls and chatting on the phone for hours. As her health declined, their love for her was ever so obvious by their devotion to visiting her and lifting her spirits. Her children are eternally grateful for this.
Barbara was impeccable about her appearance; she loved looking great! She was even more impeccable about keeping the family home spotless, not an easy task with 9 children. Barbara was immensely proud of her family. She cherished holidays with her family, always saving her gifts for last, creating beautiful and often funny memories.
The family cannot express enough their admiration and appreciation for all the staff at the Nevins Nursing Home in Methuen, MA. We hold each of you in our thoughts and prayers. Her friendships with all the residents must be recognized for their daily visits and prayers. Your love was reciprocated.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Barbara’s extraordinary life by gathering for calling hours from 3-7 PM on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will then follow at 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private, allowing the family a quiet moment to reflect on her legacy.
