Barbara Ann Hardy

Barbara A. (Mclean) Hardy,78, of Methuen, MA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 8th, 2021 at Steward Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill. She was born on December 1st, 1942 in Lowell, MA to the late Stewart and Theresa (Mellon) McLean. Barbara professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined St. Monica’s Church where she was a Eucharistic minister/server, Marie Rivier Associates of the Presentation of Mary, St. Basil’s Church where she made her Cursillo, Lecture at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Marie Joseph Spiritual Center and a member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Barbara’s favorite things to do were having breakfast at The Methuen Family Restaurant with her church friends, playing 45’s (a Merrimack Valley thing), Yahtzee and babysitting her Grand Pups, Bella and Emma Hardy. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cynthia A. Hardy; sisters, Judy, Margaret, Dorothy, Patricia and Marion; and brothers, Richard, William, and Stewart. The family wishes to extend their sincere thank you and deep gratitude for all expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness shown during this time of bereavement. A special thank you to the ICU staff at the Steward Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, MA for the amazing care Barbara received during her stay. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Roger F. Hardy, Jr. and his wife Cara, Arthur L. Hardy, III and his wife, Jennifer, and Dean Valoras; grandchildren, David F. Hardy and his companion, Judy Cartier, Ayden L. Hardy and his wife, Annalise, Erika A. Hardy and her companion, Stephen Walker, Benjamin F. Hardy and his companion, Jourden A. Sandner, Alexis Hardy and Evan Hardy; and great-granddaughters, Reanne and Makayla Hardy. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. All whose lives were touched by Barbara are invited to the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen, from 3:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 to reminisce, grieve and just support each other. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Burial will follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Barbara A. Hardy to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Inc., 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen, MA 01844. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hardy Family.
