Annette Marie Hyatt's Obituary
Annette Marie (Comtois) Hyatt, 100, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Nevins Nursing Home, Methuen, surrounded by her loving family. She would have been 101 years old within days.
Born on September 13, 1922, Annette was educated in the Sacred Heart School system in Lawrence and graduated from Wilford Academy Beauty School in Boston, MA.
Well known in her community, Annette had a successful career as a hairdresser. She was the owner of Annette’s Beauty Shoppe in south Lawrence for 46 years and the past president of the Greater Lawrence Hairdresser’s Association. She was also a former member of Sacred Heart Church Council Financial Committee, and a member of the Sacred Heart Charismatic Prayer Group Pastoral Team.
Annette is predeceased by her husband, Leo A. Hyatt; her siblings, J. Edward Comtois, Estelle (Comtois) McDonald, Robert Comtois, Cecile (Comtois) (Grandmasison) Duggan, Gertrude (Comtois) Holtham, and Theresa (Comtois) (Pinell) Williams.
Annette will be deeply missed by family and friends. Her survivors are her children, Thomas R. Hyatt and his wife, Alice A. (Garofalo) Hyatt of Lawrence; Lee Anne M. (Hyatt) Wyrwa of Methuen; Henry L. Hyatt and his wife, Joy Townley of Rutland, VT; her grandchildren, Maranda L. (Hyatt) White and her husband, Daniel of Londonderry, NH, Joseph C. Wyrwa and his wife, Kathleen of Amesbury, Alison Y. (Wyrwa) Soucy of N. Andover, Rachel S. Wyrwa and her wife, Samantha of Westford; her great-grandchildren, Sayde G. White, Arianna E. White, Samuel R. White, Logan C. Wyrwa, Blake M. Wyrwa, Charlotte A. Wyrwa, Evelyn M. Wyrwa, Josiah Viveiros , and Sati-Mei Viveiros. In addition, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will honor and celebrate Annette’s life by gathering for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM on Monday, September 18, 2023, at St. Augustine Parish, 43 Essex Street in Andover. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annette’s memory may be made to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844 or Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 42 Franklin Street, #44, Lawrence, MA 01840.
