Andrew R. Deschamps' Obituary
Andrew R. Deschamps, 83, passed away on February 16, 2025. He was born in Methuen, MA on April 2, 1941 to parents, Joseph and Dolores (Giguere) Deschamps and was educated in Methuen Public Schools.
Andy worked in several professions in his career, most notably at Raymond’s Turkey Farm in Methuen and as a manufacturer/side laster at many industrial shoe shops in Lawrence, MA. Later in life, he also worked in the lawn irrigation field.
Andy married the love of his life, Sally Caverly, in 1960. This loving and inseparable couple were married for 58 years, until Sally’s passing in 2018. Together, they raised four children in Methuen, MA and later lived for 25 years in Clearwater, FL.
He and Sally traveled extensively with family and friends to destinations across the country. In addition to travel, Andy was an avid athlete, who played in numerous softball leagues throughout the Merrimack Valley. He also enjoyed competing in horseshoes and bocce.
His greatest sports passion for bowling began in the 1960’s, upon the opening of Stadium Lanes in Lawrence. Over the years, he traveled with his sister, Gloria, and brother-in-law, Kenny, competing in many national tournaments through the age of 80. Andy bowled two perfect 300 games and especially enjoyed bowling and playing softball in several local leagues with sons, Joseph and Robert.
First and foremost, Andy was a family man. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and many close friends at gatherings and events. He also was a man of strong faith and regularly attended Catholic Mass.
Andy was predeceased by his wife, Sally, daughter, Michele, brothers, Peter, Michael, and Paul, and sister-in-law, Pat.
He is survived by son, Joseph Deschamps of Methuen, daughter, Denise Diamond of North Reading, son, Robert Deschamps of Methuen, sister, Gloria and husband, Kenny Guide of Methuen, brothers, Ronald and wife, Nancy of Clearwater, FL, Dennis and partner, Maureen of North Andover, sisters, Shirley and husband, Walter Birch of North Andover, Claudette and husband, Keith Bininger of Dracut, grandchildren, Daniel Roy of Groton, Ashlyn Ford of Sandown, NH, and Haley Stone of Bridgton, ME, great grandchildren, Luke, Elsie, Michelle, and Gavin, and several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Andy by attending his calling hours on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 4 – 7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. His funeral service will follow at 7 PM at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Andy’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
