Allan L Nolan's Obituary
Allan L. Nolan, 77 of Salem, NH passed away on May 29, 2020. He was born on May 13, 1943 to the late William K. Sr. and Eva (Mansor) Nolan. He graduated from Tenney Memorial High School in Methuen, MA.
Allan was the owner and operator of Al Nolan’s Jewelry and Pawn in Derry, NH for 22 years and was well known and respected throughout the area. Once retired, he worked on classic Ford Skyliners at Showcase Restorations with his brother and spent much time traveling the US and Canada competing at National car shows. He was a member of the Derry-Salem Elks Lodge #2226.
He enjoyed motor cycling and boating. Allan was an avid boater who helped develop a shifting propeller designed to achieve maximum speed out of ordinary boats. He enjoyed many days over the years of boating on Arlington Pond in Salem, NH. He also frequented a local pub, formerly The Flaming Kabob, where he had his own seat and new management affectionately named a burger after him.
In addition to his parents, Allan is predeceased by his twin brother Arthur Nolan. He is survived by his daughter, Robyn as well as his three siblings: William K. Nolan Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Peabody, MA, Rosemary Lamirande and her husband Ronald, of Methuen, MA; and Stephen Nolan Sr. of Derry, NH. Allan is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to his niece Erin for her help caring for him throughout his battle with cancer.
Due to the current state of health affairs viewing is private, but there will be a funeral mass held in his honor on Saturday, June 13, 2020 11 AM at St. Anthony’s Maronite Church, Lawrence, MA. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve our dear friends of the Nolan Family.
