Alice A. (Deschenes) Dumais' Obituary
Alice A. (Deschenes) Dumais, 86, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Giving Tree Assisted Living in Dracut, MA, with her loving family all around her.
Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Cleophas and Clara (St. Aubin) Deschenes. Alice was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Class of 1956.
She worked in customer service at Turnstyle in Lawrence, a waitress at Valle’s Steak House in Andover, and as an office manager at her sons’ business, Dumais Electric in Methuen.
Her family was always her FIRST PRIORITY.
She was involved with the church as a Eucharistic Minister, hosted a prayer community at her home in Lawrence and a volunteer at St Francis, Dracut. She was also a cub scout leader at Sacred Heart in Lawrence.
As for her hobbies, she loved making quilts and even won an award. Reading was a favorite pastime along with drives to the beach with her family and friends, going out to eat, and vacationing at Baileys Island.
Alice will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Donna Chaisson and her husband, Mark of Kingston, NH, sons, Brian Dumais and his wife, Deborah of Deerfield, NH, Mark Dumais and his wife, Donna of Salem, NH, Ken Dumais and his wife, Robin of Methuen, MA, grandchildren, Carissa Dawe, Jacob Chaisson, Desiree Vieira, Nikolas Dumais, Jared Dumais, Chelsea Dumais, Corey Dumais, and Kyle Dumais, as well as fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her brothers, Alfred Deschenes, Henry Deschenes, Roland Deschenes, Philip Deschenes, and sister, Rita Kimball.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 10 am to 12 pm on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 pm in the funeral home, concluding with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 76 Corbett St., Andover, MA.
