Andover ? Alfred A. Caron, 90, of Andover, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Blouin) Caron. Born in Methuen on August 24, 1923, he was the son of the late Alfred and Mary (Blott) Caron. Alfred served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a sheet metal mechanic and then a cost estimator for Bomco, Inc in Gloucester, MA. In his free time, he was a history buff and an avid reader. Alfred will be deeply missed by his 2 daughters, Christine D'Agostino and her husband, Matthew of Methuen and Susan Digloria and her husband, John of Methuen; 3 sons, Michael Caron and his wife, Ellen of Key West, FL., William Caron and his wife, Sara of Londonderry, NH., and Timothy Caron and his partner, Sharon Lavallee of Chester, NH.; a sister, Mary Desrochers of North Andover; 2 brothers, Ernest Caron and his partner, Barbara Shean of Marblehead and John Caron and his wife, Florence of New Hampshire; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. The Caron family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Academy Manor Nursing Home, especially those on floor B2, for all of their comfort and care. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Alfred's life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 10AM - 12PM. His funeral service will take place on Friday at 12 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. The family has requested, in Alfred's honor, memorial contributions be made to the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed Street, Haverhill, MA 01832.
