Agnes "Nancy" (Cunningham) McComish's Obituary
Agnes “Nancy” (Cunningham) McComish, 96 of Methuen, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Prescott House in North Andover. She was the beloved wife of the late William Russell McComish.
Nancy was born in Lawrence on June 12, 1926, the daughter of the late William and Agnes (Ingles) Cunningham. She was the youngest of 5 children. She graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1944, and from Bryant-McIntosh College in Lawrence with an associate’s degree. She worked as an insurance administrator for John Hancock Life Insurance Company for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Methuen Senior Center, where she enjoyed cross stitching and dancing. She also liked to travel.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her 3 children, David McComish, and his wife, Cheryl, of North Carolina, Nancy Mullin and her husband, Larry, of Lowell, and W. Russell McComish, Jr. of Methuen; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Cara Demetropoulos, Catherine Ritchey, Christopher Mullin, Brian Mullin, and Katie Mullin; 8 great grandchildren, Christina Demetropoulos, David, Natalie, Jocelyn, and Scarlett Ritchey, Lucas and Kyle Mullin, and Emma Reardon; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her 4 siblings, William, George, John, and Isabelle.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Nancy’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 4 – 8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
