Adam P. Piazza's Obituary
Adam P. Piazza husband of the late Mary T Piazza of Haverhill MA passed on October 28, 2017 at Merrimack Valley Hospice, Haverhill MA after a courageous battle with Aplastic Anemia. Adam was born on July, 2 1930 to the late Josephine and Nicola Piazza. He was 87 years old.
Adam is survived by his son Andrew and wife Joanne of Venice FL, son William and wife Shelia of Haverhill MA, daughter Donna Therrien of Gloucester Ma and twin sister Eve Ashline of New York. Adam was also blessed by five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Adam is predeceased by brothers Frank, Gus and Sam Piazza, sisters Josephine Spatola, Rita Croteau and Mary Piazza.
Adam graduated from Lawrence High School and the Waltham school of Watch Repair. Adam attended Brown University where he studied Engineering. Adam served his country that he loved in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard several battleships in the Asian Pacific.
Adam married Mary at Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence MA, September 2, 1951 and lived in Newport Rhode Island during his time in the Navy. The family moved to Pawtucket RI and then on to Andover MA in 1959 where they raised their three children. Adam and Mary moved to Haverhill MA in 1980 and has resided there since.
Adam worked as an engineer for General Motors AC Electronics Division where he was instrumental in the design and development of the gyros used in the Apollo space program and later at Honeywell and Edwards pneumatic.
Adam was a past member of the Lawrence Elks, Sons of Italy, Knights of Columbus Council 3819 and a Forth Degree Knight at the Father O’Donnell Assembly in Methuen. Adam was an avid photographer and took home movies establishing a chronicle of a growing family for over 50 years. Photos and movies that we hold dear as a great reminder of our families past.
Adam loved his family above all. He was extremely active in his children's lives and was there to support them all. Adam was devastated when Mary passed and has missed her tremendously during these past eight years and has never recovered from that loss. Adam is now reunited with the Love of his Life in the Kingdom of Heaven. God Bless them Both.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:30 AM at All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Ave. Haverhill. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
