Shirley H. Desharnais' Obituary
Andover – Shirley H. (Gearin) Desharnais, 91 of Methuen, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Academy Manor in Andover. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Desharnais.
Shirley was born in Methuen on February 2, 1926, the daughter of Austin and Lottie (Thomas) Gearin. She worked as a clerk at the Tage Inn in Andover until her retirement. Shirley enjoyed reading and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She gave wholeheartedly to all, cherished her family, and always put others before herself.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her 2 daughters, Sandra Lowes and her husband, Matthew of Raymond, NH and Paula Keleher and her husband, Kevin of Methuen; 2 brothers, Leon Gearin of Methuen and Robert Gearin and his wife, Josephine of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Michelle Galvao and her husband, Luis, Matthew Lowes, Jr. and his fiancé, Christine, Megan Laferriere and her husband, Joseph, and Kathleen Keleher Bryant and her husband, Matthew; 7 great grandchildren, Justin and Cory Tibbetts, Emily Dawson, Casey and Kellie Lowes, Kayla Merchant, and Emily Laferriere; 2 great great grandchildren, Joey and Cameron Tibbetts; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Shirley’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 10 – 11 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
