Richard Marsan's Obituary
Richard (Dick), (Skip), (Red) Marsan died Monday January 23 after a brief stay at Holy Family Hospital. Richard was the son of Paul E. and Blanche (LaPlante) Marsan. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. Richard met, fell in love, and was married to Elizabeth M. (Clarke) Marsan on January 12, 1957, and spent 66 years happily married. They spent most of their lives in Methuen, MA and Orlando, FL.
Richard was an auto body man by trade and worked at several body shops in the area before finding his calling as an auto body teacher. He taught for many years at Nashoba Valley Technical High School. After his retirement from teaching, he and Elizabeth moved to Orlando, FL where they spent the next 27 years before moving back to Methuen. Richard had many interests but enjoyed traveling the country with Elizabeth in their converted Flxible bus.
These few sentences hardly describe the incredible life that Richard led. He was a thoughtful, cheerful, kindhearted man who gave more than he had, asked for little in return, and didn't look down upon anyone. He had more interests than can be mentioned here. One of his great joys was his family with Elizabeth of 6 children, Richard J Marsan Jr. and his wife Robin (Larrabee), Arlene (Marsan) Champey and her husband Russell, Raymond Marsan and his wife Sharon (Powell), Ron Marsan and his wife Dianne (MacInnis), Roger Marsan and his wife Christina (Reynolds) and Michelle Marsan. 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
