Mary Olive Arroyo's Obituary
Mary Olive (Rooney) Arroyo, age 90 formerly of Methuen and Andover, MA and Sugarland, TX passed away peacefully after a short illness on January 21, 2023 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
Mary was born to Mary Jane and James Patrick Rooney on November 18, 1932 in Lawrence. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 66 years C. John Arroyo, her beloved parents, 2 brothers Francis and Joseph Rooney, and a sister Helen MacCallum. She is survived by her sister Margaret Dawson of Methuen, her son John E. Arroyo and his longtime companion Harriet L. Duffy of Bradford, her daughter Jane M. Danger and her husband Dan of Hartford, MI, and Dennis M. Arroyo of Houston, TX; 3 grandchildren Christine Flanders of Nashua, NH, John J. Arroyo of NC and Mark A. Arroyo of TX; 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was a lover of Music of many genres from Classical to Big Band, to Folk, to Rock N Roll and Country. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years, traveling to see family and vacationing to places like Hawaii, Cancun, Italy and more. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica’s Parish, 212 Lawrence St. Methuen. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Lawrence. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Arroyo Family.
